Jamieson O’Reilly

Hacker, Advisor, Entrepreneur

Jamieson O'Reilly is an offensive security specialist who has conducted red team operations against some of the hardest targets in the world, including banks, casinos, and government agencies.

He has previously helped secure the security of some of the worlds largest casinos, exposing critical vulnerabilities across their surveillance networks, backend systems, and customer databases. This work simulates the tactics of advanced persistent threat actors, helping organisations identify weaknesses before real adversaries exploit them.

In 2016, Jamieson founded Dvuln, an Australian offensive security firm that works with major enterprises to pressure-test their defences against sophisticated attacks. The firm operates from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane as a CREST-certified penetration testing provider. Jamieson's specialisations include advanced offensive operations, exploit development, counter-detection and anti-forensics, social engineering, HUMINT, and cryptography.

He is also a co-author of the post-quantum encryption specification PPQM, reflecting his work in defensive cryptographic research alongside his offensive capabilities.

Technical research and vulnerability disclosure have been consistent threads throughout his career. In 2016, he reported a critical vulnerability in the Vidyo teleconference platform used by the US Army, NASA, and CERN that could have exposed video communications and compromised system files across these organisations while published work dates back to 2013, covering RAM scraping malware targeting Australian banks, phishing methodologies, and SQL injection filter bypass techniques.

Threat intelligence forms another pillar of his practice, spanning dark web operations, infostealer ecosystems, and supply chain compromise analysis. This has included detailed analysis of breaches affecting Australian critical infrastructure and defence programs, such as cyber attacks on defence supply chain contractors that compromised material relating to Australia's weapons programs.

Jamieson also served as Lead Cyber Security Advisor at IDVERSE (acquired by LexisNexis) prior to their acquisition, focusing on securing identity and fraud prevention technologies.

From 2014 to 2018, he was Co-Founder and Director of Intelligence at Content Protection, one of Australia's first cyber threat intelligence providers, which assisted multiple ASX-listed organisations in preventing large-scale data breaches through rapid intelligence action.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a Security Engineer at Tenable from 2012 to 2013, managing support for vulnerability scanning operations for US defence assets among other global enterprises.

Today, Jamieson serves on the CREST Australasia Advisory Council and holds multiple Australian security clearances and is a regular source for Australian and international media on major cyber incidents and emerging threats, with commentary appearing in ABC News, ABC Radio, the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, The Register, Help Net Security, and Information Age.

Notable coverage includes the MediSecure breach affecting 13 million Australians, the global CrowdStrike outage, the Optus regulatory action, the Louis Vuitton data breach, the Football Australia data leak, and vulnerabilities in digital driver's licence systems.

His research into telecommunications vulnerabilities has also prompted telcos globally to take proactive countermeasures against emerging scam threats.
